Quickly find answers to your questions about CallEat
Last updated:
30 minutes between signup and your first QR code stuck on a table. You create your account, set up your zones and tables via the wizard, print the QR code sheet straight from your browser, and you're live. No hardware or software installation required.
Your account is active immediately after signing up — you can set up your restaurant right away. In parallel, we send you a verification email: clicking the link confirms your address, secures your access and makes your notifications more reliable (payment alerts, trial reminders). The link stays valid for 7 days and you can resend it at any time from the banner shown in your admin area. Confirmation is not blocking: it's the card registered at signup, not the email, that prevents abuse.
The showcase website is included from the Essential plan (and of course Starter, Pro and Business), as well as during the free trial. It's a public, mobile-optimized page at calleat.fr/restaurant/your-name, with your description, your hero image (or a carousel of several images), a gallery, your opening hours, contacts, social links, a booking link and an "Order at table" button that points to the QR scan. You edit everything from /admin/website — no developer or web agency needed. Google-indexable, GDPR-compliant. If you already own a domain name, you can have it redirect to this address with your domain host. If your subscription expires, the page stays configured but is no longer publicly accessible until you resume a subscription (or a trial).
Yes. From your admin area you export your customer file (Settings > Data & security), your reservation book, your revenue and your audit logs as CSV. For everything else (menus, orders, stock movements), email rgpd@calleat.fr: we will send you a complete copy of your restaurant's data in a machine-readable format within 30 days, as provided for in our terms of sale. You remain the owner of your data — no vendor lock-in.
The application and the database are hosted in France, with OVHcloud (Roubaix), with an encrypted daily backup. Some of our subprocessors (payments, email and SMS delivery) process data elsewhere in the European Union. Four optional processing activities may involve a framework-covered transfer outside the EU, and only if you switch them on or if your visitor consents to them: the AI chatbot, AI review analysis, the Google external reviews module and Meta advertising measurement. The named list is in our privacy policy.
Email support@calleat.fr. The target response time depends on your plan: within 48 business hours on Essential and Starter, within 24 business hours on Pro, and dedicated support (WhatsApp/phone) on Business. No technical support is billed on top, whatever your plan. You can also browse our online documentation.
Your listing is published on the CallEat directory (calleat.fr/restaurants) and on our pages by city and by cuisine type, as soon as you publish your showcase site. Each listing is rendered in eight languages with its own address, which makes it indexable by Google in every one of them — a visibility argument already covered by the €18.99 Essential plan. The texts you enter are not translated automatically on that page: it's the structure of the listing that is.
Traditional restaurant, pizzeria, hookah lounge, food truck, tea room, brasserie… fourteen types are offered, and this choice is not cosmetic: it determines the visual template of your menu, the promotions suggested to you and the display of certain screens (hookah tracking, for example, only appears for the establishments concerned). You can change it at any time from your settings.
CallEat uses unique QR codes placed on each table in your restaurant. When a customer scans the QR code with their smartphone, they can call a waiter, browse the menu, order or leave a review. Notifications arrive instantly on your waiters' screens.
No, CallEat works on any device with a web browser (smartphone, tablet or computer). QR codes can be printed on your existing materials (menu holders, coasters, table stands) or we can provide custom-branded supports.
No! That's one of CallEat's big advantages. Your customers install nothing. They simply scan the QR code with their phone camera and can immediately call service or view your menu.
From their table's QR code, your customer can call a waiter, browse the menu and order, leave a review, get the Wi-Fi code or sign up to your newsletter. The options shown adapt to your setup: the Wi-Fi tile only appears if you have entered a network, and the waiter call only if your plan includes it.
Waiters receive real-time notifications on a dashboard accessible from any browser. They can see which table is calling, the type of request, and the waiting time. Sound and visual notifications ensure no call is missed.
The Stock module is included from the Pro plan. You link each dish to its ingredients on the Recipes page by setting the quantity per portion (and a per-size multiplier if applicable). When a customer places an order through CallEat, the stock of the relevant ingredients is decremented automatically — an order cashed in at your till only cannot be deducted. An alert triggers as soon as an ingredient drops below its minimum threshold, and you record supplier deliveries (delivery notes) to credit stock back and track food-cost evolution.
The Waiter scheduling page shows the current week with the attendance level forecast by CallEat in the background. You create a shift by clicking a cell on the grid. For activity peaks (a match, a local event), the Forecasts suggest reinforcement shifts you can apply in one click. You clock each waiter in and out from that same page, which lets you compare scheduled hours against hours actually worked.
CallEat is a progressive web app (PWA): your waiters download nothing from a store. On iPhone, they open the app in Safari then tap Share > "Add to Home Screen". On Android, Chrome automatically offers installation. The CallEat icon appears on their home screen and they receive push notifications for every customer call even when the app is closed.
Yes, the customer can cancel their order directly from their order page as long as it hasn't been picked up in the kitchen (status "queued"). Once your kitchen acknowledges it via the KDS, customer-side cancellation is automatically blocked to avoid conflicts. Every cancellation is logged (author, reason, timestamp) and visible in your order history.
For hookah lounges, CallEat offers a dedicated "Active hookahs" page that tracks each session: chosen tobacco, syrup, bowl type (kaloud or classic). A visual countdown turns green, then yellow, then flashing red once the refill delay is reached. Your waiters receive a push notification on their phone even when the app is in the background. The "Refill coal" and "Refill bowl" buttons automatically reset the timer. The default refill delay is 25 minutes but you can customize it session by session (for example 35 min for a premium kaloud that stays hot longer).
CallEat records each supplier delivery as a distinct batch with its own use-by date. The "Batches" page shows all batches in stock with a color code (green beyond 14 days, yellow within 14 days, red if the use-by date has passed). When a dish is ordered, CallEat automatically consumes the batch closest to its use-by date first (FIFO) to reduce waste. An automatic alert is sent every morning for batches expiring within 7 days.
Yes, with the Stock module (included from the Pro plan). On the "Supplier deliveries" page, you pick the supplier then drop in the invoice PDF. CallEat extracts the date and each line (label, quantity, unit price) and offers you a draft: you attach each line to the matching ingredient, correct any reading errors, then confirm. Stock is then incremented, unit costs updated and the margin recalculated. Two limits to know about: reading works on PDFs that contain text (a photo of a delivery note is not supported yet), and the delivery note number, the use-by date and the batch number are not extracted — the delivery then carries a generated reference.
CallEat runs in degraded mode when the restaurant Wi-Fi drops: your waiters' actions (call acknowledgement, order update) are queued on the phone and sent automatically as soon as the connection returns. A discreet banner shows the number of pending actions. On the customer side (table QR), a connection is required to scan and order — so keep a backup 4G on your restaurant router.
Yes. CallEat offers the "Group owner" role (GROUP_OWNER) that lets a single account access several restaurants attached to the same group. The "Multi-restaurant dashboard" page shows all your establishments in one table (orders, revenue, open alerts) with one click to switch into the context of the chosen restaurant. The Business plan unlocks linking up to 3 restaurants and the consolidated dashboard; each venue keeps its own subscription, however — the Business plan is not a single subscription covering three restaurants.
Yes. Collecting and displaying your internal reviews (the quick rating a customer leaves after their meal) is included from the Starter plan up — the Essential plan, focused on online presence, does not include them. The Google external reviews module — included from the Business plan, or available as an add-on (€8.99/month) on the Starter and Pro plans — also monitors your Google reviews in the same place and lets you reply to them straight from CallEat.
Yes, it's included with the Google external reviews module. CallEat automatically analyzes the content of your reviews (Google and internal): sentiment, recurring themes (service, food, waiting time, price...), a one-sentence summary and the trend over time, with an alert as soon as a negative theme emerges over the last 7 days. 50 analyses per month are included at no extra cost; beyond that, analysis pauses until the next month, unless you explicitly enable billed overage (€0.03 per extra analysis, price shown in your admin area, billed monthly). The results also feed the suggested replies, so you answer precisely the points raised by each customer.
The loyalty program (included from the Pro plan) automatically credits points on each of your customers' visits — the rate and the tiers (silver, gold, platinum) are configurable — and lets you publish a rewards catalog: percentage discount, amount off or free dish, with a minimum tier, validity window and quota. Your customers check their points and redeem rewards without creating an account: they receive by email a secure personal link to their loyalty page. Each redemption generates a short code your team validates in the dining room in one click — a code can never be used twice.
Yes, with automatic win-back (included with the loyalty program, from the Pro plan). You enable it explicitly, choose the inactivity threshold (60 days by default) and, if you wish, welcome-back bonus points: CallEat then re-engages your dormant customers every night by email (and by SMS via your prepaid credit if you have the Business plan's SMS module), at most once per period you define. Only customers who opted in to marketing are contacted, and every message contains an unsubscribe link. You track the reminders and the actual returns (win-back rate) from your admin area, and you can also target "customers inactive for N days" in your newsletter campaigns.
Yes. CallEat distinguishes several roles. The waiter only accesses the liveboard and their table calls. The floor manager (Manager) handles all operations — orders, kitchen, scheduling, stock — but not revenue, billing or sensitive customer data, which remain reserved for the owner. You invite your team and assign these roles from the Team page of your admin area.
Yes, with the Dissatisfaction Detection module (included from the Pro plan). CallEat spots signals of dissatisfaction in real time — low rating, long wait, returned dish — and alerts you so you can react before the customer leaves disappointed. It can also suggest a suitable goodwill gesture (discount, free dish) to recover the situation.
Yes, with the "Audience" tab in your admin area (included from the Pro plan up). Day by day, you track views of your showcase page and your online menu, QR code scans and the orders they generate, as well as views and conversions of your booking widget, with a breakdown of your visitors by language and device type. Measurement is done by CallEat itself, without cookies: your visitor is never identified. If they accept audience measurement in our consent banner, a temporary session identifier links the dishes viewed to the order — with no name or email; if they decline, nothing is stored.
Your customers book a table directly from your showcase site or a dedicated link, without creating an account. They enter their name, phone and email (all required), the date, time, party size and, if they wish, a special request (allergy, terrace table, occasion). They immediately receive an email confirmation, then an automatic email reminder before the booking (the SMS reminder is enabled in your settings: it is deducted from your prepaid SMS credit, which you can top up on any plan, and falls back to email if the balance runs out). You see every booking on a real-time floor plan and the software suggests table assignments. By default, no bank card is requested from the customer.
Yes, the customer can cancel or change their booking themselves from the link received by email, up to the deadline you set (for example 2 hours before). By default, booking is card-free: nothing is requested or charged, and a cancellation within the deadline incurs no fee. If you enable card guarantee to fight no-shows, there are two options: either a simple card hold (no charge, except in the event of a no-show that was not cancelled, where a no-show fee you define may be taken), or a deposit charged at booking and deducted from the bill (kept in the event of a no-show). The amount and conditions are shown to the customer before they confirm, and both the hold and the deposit are handled by our provider Stripe — we never store any card number.
Yes. Your CallEat booking link goes on your Google Business Profile ("Reserve" button) to capture customers who find you on Google or Maps. With the Meta Reserve module — included from the Pro plan, optional on Starter alongside the Bookings module — you also offer booking from Instagram and Facebook: the "Book" button on your Facebook Page, a link in bio or in a story on Instagram. All these bookings land on your floor plan with their source channel, visible in your statistics. And in every case, CallEat takes no commission on your bookings — 0 commission, whatever the channel.
Yes, the CallEat app is available on the App Store. It gives access to the liveboard, orders and internal messaging, with push notifications. You can also, without installing anything, add CallEat to the home screen from the browser: it's a progressive web app (PWA), and your waiters receive notifications there too. The subscription itself is taken out and managed from the web.
Yes, and it is not reserved for a particular plan. From the Newsletter page of your admin area, you compose an email campaign and target your customer file — for example "customers inactive for 60 days". Only customers who opted in to marketing are contacted, every send contains an unsubscribe link, and you track opens and returns from the same page.
Yes. When ordering via QR code, your customer chooses between "Pay at table" (at billing time, as before) and "Pay now" (online, by card via Stripe). Online payment accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay and Google Pay. The order goes to the kitchen as soon as it is confirmed and switches to "settled" as soon as the payment succeeds. If the customer abandons mid-payment, the ticket carries a red "unpaid" badge both in the kitchen and on the liveboard, and it is cancelled automatically after 10 minutes if the kitchen has not started it. The customer can also add an optional tip at payment time. Online payment requires the Online Ordering module — included from the Pro plan, available as an add-on from the Starter plan — as well as opening your Stripe payment account from the Payments page of your admin area (identity and IBAN, a few minutes). Until it is verified, in-room ordering automatically falls back to paying at the table.
The "Payments" page in your admin area shows, in real time, your revenue collected online and at the table, total tips, refunds and your online payment rate. Order-by-order detail (amount, payment method) is available from the order history, and the CSV export for your accountant is on the "Revenue" page. To refund an order paid online, email us at facturation@calleat.fr: the refund is issued by CallEat from the platform's payment account, and the matching credit note is generated automatically.
Yes. Your customers can order online from your restaurant's showcase site and pick a collection slot (for example "in 30 min", "in 1 h" or a specific time). A dedicated "Click & Collect" page in your admin shows orders to collect sorted by scheduled time. A "Ready for pickup" button there automatically triggers a text to the customer (if they asked for it) with their order number — the same action exists on the kitchen screen if your plan includes it. That text is deducted from your prepaid SMS credit, which you can top up from your admin area on any plan. Click & collect requires a way of taking payment: either your verified Stripe payment account (the customer pays when ordering, and the ticket only goes to the kitchen once the card has been charged), or the "pay at the counter on collection" option in your settings. Without one of the two, the takeaway ordering page stays closed. When the customer arrives, one click on "Handed over" closes the order: you keep track of collections and spot orders that were never picked up.
The KDS is a kitchen screen that replaces paper tickets: each order appears in real time with its items, table number, cooking time and status. Your cook taps "In progress" then "Ready" as they go, and the waiter gets a notification when a dish is ready to serve. A flashing red alert appears on orders that exceed the expected prep time (configurable per restaurant, default 15 min). Included from the Pro plan.
CallEat can automatically route each dish to the right station based on its menu category: cold starters to the "cold" station, hot dishes to "hot", drinks to "bar", desserts to "dessert". You set each category's default station in two clicks in Menu management. Each cook then sees only the dishes relevant to them on their screen, filtering by station in the top bar. No more lost tickets or confusion between stations.
No. Your waiters keep the already-loaded orders on screen, and their actions (acknowledgement, update) are queued on the phone then sent automatically when the connection returns — nothing is lost, even though the screen cannot be reloaded offline. For orders already taken before the outage, the kitchen keeps working. The only limitation: new customers scanning a QR code need a connection to access the menu — hence our recommendation to keep a backup 4G on the router (€50/year).
Yes, with the Kiosk module (included from the Pro plan). You set up a tablet at your entrance or near the counter and open the URL `/kiosk/your-restaurant` in fullscreen mode. Your customers order themselves then pay at the counter, where they collect their order (online payment is not available on the kiosk yet). Ideal for snacks, fast-casuals and busy hookah lounges. The kiosk automatically resets after each order so the next customer finds a clean screen.
Yes, with the POS integration module — included in the Business plan, or as an add-on (€11.99/month) on the Pro plan. Your POS pushes its tickets to CallEat: your table statuses update in real time, each ticket's actual spend enriches your customers' profiles in the CRM (along with their loyalty points), and a QR order set to "pay at table" that is settled at the till is automatically marked paid in CallEat. You connect it from your admin area: enter your POS API key, map your tables and paste the provided webhook URL into your POS. Sixteen POS systems are supported (Zelty, Lightspeed, L'Addition, Innovorder, Square, SumUp, Tiller, Popina…), plus a generic format. Depending on your POS, opening the feed may have to go through its vendor — that is the case for Lightspeed K-Series.
For every order paid online, CallEat generates a receipt — or an invoice if you have entered your SIRET — as a PDF, with continuous numbering, line-by-line detail and the VAT applicable to your tax regime. The customer downloads it from a secure personal link, and a refund automatically generates the matching credit note. Please note: this is an order receipt, not a till receipt in the regulatory sense — the tax recording of your takings remains the job of your POS.
Yes. In your settings, the "pay at the counter on collection" option opens takeaway ordering without a payment account: the customer orders online and pays when they come to pick up their bag. It is your decision, never the diner's. Bear in mind that you then expose yourself to orders that are never picked up, since nothing is collected up front. The Online Ordering module is still required in both cases.
When a customer scans their table's QR code, they land on a welcome screen where they tap "View the menu" (or "Order"). They can browse categories (starters, mains, desserts, drinks), see descriptions, prices and allergens. The menu is available in 8 languages (French, English, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, Chinese and Arabic), shown automatically based on the customer's phone language.
Yes, with the AI menu chatbot module. An assistant answers your customers' questions about the menu (allergens, ingredients, food-and-drink pairings, vegetarian dishes...) right from the QR code, in your restaurant's tone. You customise it yourself from the Chatbot page of your admin area. Included from the Business plan, with 500 conversations per month covered and per-conversation billing beyond that; available as an add-on (€8.99/month) on the Essential, Starter and Pro plans.
Yes, you have full access to edit your menu via the admin interface. You can add, edit or remove dishes, change prices, update descriptions and manage allergens in a few clicks.
Yes, you can indicate allergens for each dish (gluten, lactose, nuts, etc.). This information is clearly visible to customers, which helps you comply with regulations and reassure your guests.
Yes, you can create as many menus as needed and schedule their automatic display by time. For example, the lunch menu from 11:30 to 14:30, then the dinner menu from 19:00.
No. A "Translate everything" button automatically fills in the missing labels and descriptions in the seven other languages, on every plan. It never touches a field you have already filled in: so you can hand-craft your signature dishes and let the machine do the rest. It is machine translation, worth proofreading if your menu plays on wordplay. Without this step, a diner who displays the menu in Chinese will see your dishes in French.
Yes, up to ten extras per dish (bacon, double cheese, sauce…), each with its own price and its label in the eight languages. The customer ticks them when ordering from the QR code, and the price is recalculated server-side — the amount sent by the phone is never taken at face value. One useful detail: during a happy hour, the discount applies to the dish alone, the extras stay at full price.
We offer four plans, with no commitment on monthly billing (the annual option, for its part, commits you for 12 months in exchange for -10%), all with a 7-day free trial: Essential (€18.99/month) — your online presence (directory listing + SEO showcase site) and menu viewing by QR code at the table in 8 languages, with no waiter call or online ordering, ideal as a simple digital storefront; Starter (€28.99/month) up to 10 tables, 1 waiter account and 1 zone, ideal for a small establishment; Pro (€48.99/month) up to 30 tables, 3 waiters and 3 zones, with all advanced modules included (online ordering, bookings, loyalty, kitchen KDS, customer reviews, stock, forecasts, upsell, dissatisfaction, kiosk...); and Business (€128.99/month) unlimited and all-inclusive — unlimited tables, waiters and zones, AI chatbot, Google external reviews, POS integration, Happy Hour SMS, loyalty promos and yield, linking of up to 3 restaurants with a consolidated multi-restaurant dashboard (each venue keeps its own subscription) and a 99.9% SLA. With annual billing you save 10%. Beyond the plans, 6 optional modules can be added à la carte depending on your plan, billed pro rata: Online ordering (€18.99/month), AI menu chatbot (€8.99/month), Google external reviews (€8.99/month), Bookings (€18.99/month, included from the Pro plan, available on Starter), Meta Reserve — booking from Instagram and Facebook (€11.99/month, included from the Pro plan, available on Starter together with Bookings) and POS integration (€11.99/month, included in Business, available on the Pro plan). The other advanced modules are not sold separately: they are included depending on your plan.
The Essential plan (€18.99/month) is our entry-level offer, designed for establishments that first want a polished online presence, without floor management. It includes your CallEat directory listing, your SEO-optimized showcase site (calleat.fr/restaurant/your-name) and viewing of your digital menu by QR code at the table, in 8 languages. It does NOT include waiter call buttons or the liveboard, online ordering, or customer reviews — for those features, move up to the Starter plan or higher. On Essential, only the AI menu chatbot can be added as an option (€8.99/month). Like all plans: a 7-day free trial, no commitment on monthly billing, -10% with annual billing (with a 12-month commitment).
No commitment on monthly billing: you can cancel at any time and cancellation takes effect at the end of the month already paid for. The annual option does commit you for 12 months in exchange for -10%: it is paid in one go and is not refundable before its term. The advertised price is the final price — no setup or onboarding fees. The following can be added to your invoice, always visible in your admin area: the optional modules you enable, tables beyond your plan's quota (€2.99 per table per month) and, if you enable them, chatbot conversations or AI review analyses beyond the included volume. SMS credits and the physical supports from our shop are paid separately, at purchase. To try CallEat you get a 7-day free trial: your card is registered at sign-up but no amount is charged or held during the trial. The first payment is taken automatically at the end of the 7 days, unless you cancel before that date from Billing > Manage my subscription.
Yes, from your admin area. Upgrades are immediate and prorated. Downgrades also take effect immediately: features that are not part of the new plan are switched off as soon as you confirm, and the new price applies at your next billing date — the month already paid for is not refunded pro rata. If you want to keep your features until the end of the month you paid for, confirm the change the day before your renewal date.
We accept credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). Your subscription is then charged automatically to that card at each renewal. Invoices are available in your customer area.
Yes. At signup you get a 7-day free trial (your card is registered to limit abuse, with no charge during the trial). During this period you use every feature of the plan you chose; modules belonging to a higher plan require a change of plan. Then, from the Modules page of your admin area, you enable à la carte the modules eligible for your plan: the AI menu chatbot (on all four plans), Online ordering and Google external reviews (from Starter), Bookings and Meta Reserve (on Starter, and always together: the Meta button is only a link to your booking engine), POS integration (on Pro). Each is added to your subscription with automatic proration and can be removed at any time. From the Pro plan, Bookings and Meta Reserve are included. Each optional module available on your plan and not already included can also be tried free for 3 days, once only. The other advanced modules (KDS, stock, forecasts, dissatisfaction, upsell...) are included from the Pro plan.
Happy hour is included from the Pro plan. From your admin area, go to the "Happy Hour" page and create a new rule: choose the days of the week, the time range (for example 17:00-19:00), the discount type (percentage or fixed price) and the targeted categories or dishes (leave empty = the whole menu). The discount applies automatically to any order placed during the window, with no action from your waiters. You can create several independent rules (cocktails -30%, sharing platter at €12, etc.).
Yes, with the Business plan. When creating a happy hour rule, you can then set a minimum number of customer visits to qualify (for example "-20% only from the 3rd visit"). CallEat automatically recognizes loyal customers via their order history (email or phone) and applies the discount transparently. You reward your regulars without losing margin on new walk-in customers.
Yes, with the "Yield Management" module (smart pricing), included in the Business plan. CallEat continuously analyzes your attendance forecasts and, as soon as it detects a slot where expected occupancy drops below your threshold (60% of the usual level by default), it automatically creates a temporary happy hour (-15% by default). Both the trigger threshold and the discount are adjustable in Modules > Yield management. The module relies on the forecast weather: announced rain or strong wind (terrace closed) removes one position from the staffing suggestion, high heat adds one. The promo shows during the quiet window and disappears as soon as the room fills up. You gain covers during off-peak hours with no manual work.
Yes, customers who have explicitly opted in (GDPR opt-in during a previous order) receive an SMS a few minutes before a happy hour starts (configurable delay, 30 min by default). The SMS contains the promo, the schedule and a direct link to your menu. This direct channel typically generates 2 to 3 times more return than social media. SMS are deducted from your prepaid SMS credit (€0.18/SMS), topped up anytime from your admin area; feature included in the Business plan.
Setup is very fast! Once registered, you can configure your tables and generate your QR codes in under 30 minutes. We support you with a getting-started guide and detailed documentation.
From your admin interface, you generate the QR codes for all your tables in one click. You download each QR code as an image, or print the complete sheet directly from your browser.
The QR codes generated from your admin area are black and white, in the size of your choice. For a support in your own colors, our shop offers customizable table stands and stickers, as well as engraving of your logo on quotation.
You can add or remove tables at any time from your interface. New QR codes are generated instantly. A removed table disappears from your screens and from your quota, but its orders, its calls and its invoices stay in your history — and its number becomes available again.
Yes, our online shop offers table stands, stickers and display holders, with a volume discount and free delivery above a certain amount. You can browse the catalog and request a quote without even having an account; ordering, however, happens on the web and remains reserved for the owner of the establishment.
First check that the QR code isn't damaged or too small. You can regenerate a new QR code from your interface. If the problem persists, our support will help you diagnose it.
Our support is reachable by email at support@calleat.fr. The Essential and Starter plans get a target reply within 48 business hours, the Pro plan within 24 business hours, and the Business plan a dedicated support via WhatsApp or phone.
Yes. All our customers have access to full documentation, and the turnkey onboarding — full setup, entry of your menu, setting up your recipes and 1 h of training by video call — is offered free, whatever your plan.
Your waiters keep the already-loaded orders on screen, and their actions (call acknowledgement, order update) are queued on the phone then sent automatically when the connection returns. A customer who scans a QR code during the outage, on the other hand, cannot access the menu: we therefore recommend a backup connection (4G).
All your data travels encrypted (HTTPS/TLS), our daily backups are encrypted, and the most sensitive secrets (2FA codes, integration tokens) are encrypted in the database. We apply security best practices: hashed passwords, strict isolation between restaurants, audit log, two-factor authentication available. Your data is never sold and is only shared with the technical providers strictly required to run the service (hosting, payments, email and SMS delivery, optional AI features): the full, named list is in our privacy policy.
All your data is hosted in France, with OVHcloud (Roubaix), on GDPR-compliant infrastructure. A contractual 99.9% availability commitment comes with the Business plan; the Essential, Starter and Pro plans are provided without a service level agreement, even though we obviously aim for the same availability for everyone.
Yes, CallEat is built for the GDPR and we only collect the data needed to run the service. Scanning a QR code requires no identification: the diner stays anonymous as long as they only browse the menu or call a waiter. As soon as they order, book a table, sign up to your newsletter or join your loyalty program, the details they provide (name, email, phone) are processed on your behalf: you are the data controller, we act as processor. The data collected, retention periods and your rights are detailed in our privacy policy, together with an article 28 data processing agreement (DPA).
Yes. You export your customer file (Settings > Data & security), your reservation book, your revenue and your audit logs as CSV from your admin area, and you can request a complete copy of your restaurant's data at rgpd@calleat.fr. If you cancel, you can ask for your data to be permanently deleted.
In your admin area, go to "My account" then the "Security & 2FA" section (available to the owner and the floor manager; for a waiter account, ask your owner to enable it). Click Enable 2FA: a QR code appears, scan it with Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy or any other compatible TOTP app, then confirm with the 6-digit code. If you lose your phone, you can ask for a single-use sign-in code to be emailed to you so you can get back in. At each login you will enter your password then the temporary code generated by your app. Strongly recommended for all admin accounts.
Two paths, both reserved for the owner. "My account" > Privacy offers deactivation: you are logged out immediately, your data stays in the database for 30 days (reactivation is possible on request at rgpd@calleat.fr), then it is anonymized automatically. Settings > Data & security > GDPR offers permanent deletion, which immediately and irreversibly anonymizes your personal data (email, name, password). In both cases, your password is requested again to confirm.
Yes. CallEat's internal messaging is end-to-end encrypted (E2E): each browser generates an ECDH P-256 key pair; the private key never leaves the device and is itself stored encrypted there (dining-room tablets are shared), only the public key is published. Messages are encrypted via ECDH + HKDF-SHA256 + AES-GCM 256 directly in the browser before sending. Our servers store only an opaque ciphertext and can technically never decrypt your exchanges — neither CallEat nor an administrator. End-to-end encryption is active in production.
Our support team is here to help
